What is Addyi and what is it used for?

Why does Hi Doctor not prescribe Addyi?

Our doctors only prescribe treatments with robust clinical evidence, an EU-approved indication and a reviewed safety profile. Addyi is not on that list today. It may be investigational, not approved, or outside the scope of what we handle via telemedicine.

What alternatives can I consider within sexual health?

Our doctors review your history and propose the most appropriate treatment among those authorised in the EU for sexual health. The consultation fee for each area is listed on our pricing page. If your case is not eligible, the applicable fee is refunded.

How would my sexual health consultation work?

You fill in an online medical questionnaire (~4 min). An EU-licensed doctor reviews it and replies in less than 2 hours on average via the private chat in your account. If eligible, they issue an electronic prescription; each pharmacy decides whether it can dispense it.

Can I switch from Addyi to a treatment the doctor can prescribe?

Often, yes. Tell the doctor in the questionnaire that you have used Addyi, for how long and how it went. The doctor decides whether one of the sexual health treatments authorised in the EU is appropriate for you and, if it is, explains how to move from one to the other safely.

Is it safe to use Addyi without a doctor's supervision?

No prescription medicine should be used without a doctor who knows your health and your other medicines. Products sold without a prescription online may be counterfeit or wrongly dosed. If you are already using Addyi, keep your prescriber informed and report any side effect.

What should I tell the doctor if I have used Addyi before?

The dose, how long you took it, whether it helped, any side effects and why you stopped. Add your other medicines, allergies and relevant conditions. This lets the doctor judge which sexual health option, if any, is appropriate and safe for you.

What happens if the doctor decides no treatment is appropriate?

Can I get a consultation for Addyi from Madrid?

Yes. Hi Doctor runs 100 % online across the EU, so if you live in Madrid you can fill in the questionnaire and receive the medical review without travelling. The EU-licensed doctor issues the electronic prescription under Directive 2011/24/EU, and each pharmacy decides whether it can dispense it; in Spain it is dispensed directly from the prescription QR.

Is my sexual health consultation fully confidential?

Yes. All communication happens in the private chat of your account, GDPR-compliant. The doctor treats discretion as a core of the service and there is no history visible outside your consultation.

What is the private electronic prescription and which pharmacies can dispense it?

The private electronic prescription (Receta Médica Privada Electrónica) is issued by an EU-licensed doctor. It is a PDF carrying every field required by EU Directive 2011/24/EU (patient, prescriber with country of registration, active ingredient, dose). Each pharmacy decides whether it can dispense it. In Spanish pharmacies it is dispensed from the QR; outside Spain, some pharmacies do not accept PDF prescriptions, and those that do dispense the locally marketed equivalent of the same active ingredient.
