What it is and how it works
Adapalene is a topical retinoid that helps prevent blocked pores; benzoyl peroxide reduces acne-associated bacteria. The fixed combination treats comedones, papules and pustules without a topical antibiotic.

Step 2
Apply it as prescribed
Once daily at bedtime, apply a thin, even layer to clean, fully dry skin over the affected area. Avoid the eyes, lips, mucosa, cuts, eczema and sunburn. Wash your hands afterwards.

Skin care and interactions
Do not use another topical retinoid or benzoyl peroxide product. Keep cleansers and moisturisers gentle and non-comedogenic, avoid abrasive or drying products, and use SPF 30–50+ daily. Benzoyl peroxide can bleach hair and coloured fabrics.

Timing and review
Apply once each night. If your prescriber advises a gradual start because of irritation, use it on alternate nights or pause briefly, then resume only after the skin settles. Review response and tolerance at 8–12 weeks.

Step 2
If you miss an application
Apply it when you remember unless the next scheduled application is near. In that case, skip it and continue as usual. Do not apply extra product to make up for it.
Side effects
Local irritation
Mild redness, dryness, stinging or peeling can occur, especially at the start. Use a gentle moisturiser and follow the prescribed adjustment plan. Stop and seek advice if the reaction is marked or persistent.
Sun sensitivity and bleaching
Treated skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. Benzoyl peroxide can bleach hair, towels, bedding and clothing; let the gel dry before contact with fabric.

Do not use this treatment if
- You are allergic to adapalene, benzoyl peroxide or another ingredient
- You are pregnant or trying to conceive
- The treatment area has cuts, eczema, severe irritation or sunburn
05 · When to contact your doctor
Contact your doctor if
- Facial swelling, breathing difficulty, widespread blistering, eye pain, light sensitivity or altered vision — seek urgent medical care
- You become pregnant or think pregnancy is possible — stop the treatment and contact your clinician
- Irritation remains painful despite reducing frequency, or acne is worsening or scarring
Storage
Keep the tube tightly closed in its original package, out of children's reach. Follow the temperature and expiry instructions on the label and do not use the product after it expires.
What to expect
Acne treatment is gradual. Judge the response at the planned 8–12-week review rather than adding more gel or other active products. New nodules, cysts or scars need an earlier assessment.
