It matters that TB-500 is only a seven-amino-acid piece, not the full thymosin beta-4 protein used in the clinical studies sellers often point to; they are different substances. TB-500 has no marketing authorisation in the European Union and no doctor can prescribe it. It is sold online labelled for research use only, produced outside medicines manufacturing rules, so its actual content and purity cannot be verified.

What has been reported with TB-500.
No human exposure data at all
The US Food and Drug Administration states it "has not identified any human exposure data" for drug products containing thymosin beta-4 fragment, and "lacks important information regarding any safety issues raised by this drug, including whether it would cause harm if administered to humans".
Impurity and immunogenicity risk
The FDA notes preparations "may pose risk for immunogenicity for certain routes of administration due to the potential for aggregation as well as peptide-related impurities".
Trials cited by sellers are of a different substance
Human studies described as "thymosin beta-4 trials" used the full recombinant protein (for example in eye disease and heart attack research), not the seven-amino-acid fragment sold as TB-500. Evidence about one does not transfer to the other.
Unregulated supply
Sold online labelled for research use only, made outside medicines manufacturing rules, so strength, purity and contents are unverifiable.
