Looking to get Duac online in Lleida without weeks of waiting for a dermatology appointment? Hi-Doctor provides direct access to EU-licensed doctors who evaluate your skin through an asynchronous online medical questionnaire. When clinically appropriate, your doctor issues an official REMPE electronic prescription in under 24 hours. The 40 € consultation fee is refunded in full if the doctor does not issue a prescription.

How it works — get your consultation in 4 steps

  1. Complete the questionnaire: Answer questions about your skin history, previous treatments, and symptoms. You will upload clear photos of your affected skin during this step.
  2. Medical assessment: An EU-licensed doctor reviews your clinical profile and photographs to assess your acne severity within 24 hours.
  3. Receive your prescription: If treatment is suitable, an official REMPE (Receta Médica Privada Electrónica) prescription is issued directly to your account as a downloadable PDF.
  4. Present at the pharmacy: You can present the digital PDF on your phone or hand a printed copy to any pharmacy in Lleida or across Spain, where the pharmacist validates the official QR code. Under Directive 2011/24/EU, it can also be presented at any EU pharmacy, where the pharmacist may dispense a locally marketed equivalent. Pharmacists retain the right to refuse.

Who qualifies

Duac is indicated for patients aged 12 years and older with mild to moderate inflammatory acne characterized by papules and pustules. Because clinical diagnosis requires visual assessment, the questionnaire includes a mandatory photo upload step.

Who qualifies

Hi-Doctor provides topical acne treatments only. Severe nodulocystic acne, conglobata, extensive scarring, and conditions requiring oral isotretinoin or systemic oral antibiotics are out of scope and referred to in-person specialist care.

Over 50,000 patients have accessed asynchronous medical care through Hi-Doctor, backed by a 4.8-star Trustpilot rating across Europe.

What Duac actually does

Duac combines two active ingredients: clindamycin 1% and benzoyl peroxide (available in 3% or 5% concentrations). Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that halts protein synthesis in Cutibacterium acnes, reducing bacterial colonization inside the follicular unit.

Benzoyl peroxide provides bactericidal and mild keratolytic activity. Its oxidizing action prevents C. acnes from developing resistance to clindamycin, which is why topical clindamycin is never prescribed as monotherapy. Treatment is strictly capped at a 12-week maximum duration to protect skin flora.

Visible changes are judged at 12 weeks, not before. While retinoid treatments such as adapalene often produce purging between weeks 2 and 6, Duac focuses primarily on suppressing active bacterial inflammation and existing inflammatory lesions.

Side effects and when to stop

Local cutaneous reactions are common during initial application. You may experience localized erythema, peeling, dryness, and a mild burning sensation. Benzoyl peroxide bleaches fabrics and hair, so hands must be washed thoroughly after application.

Stop using the gel and seek prompt medical attention if you experience severe abdominal cramps or prolonged watery diarrhea, as topical clindamycin carries a very low but possible risk of antibiotic-associated colitis. Discontinue use if signs of an allergic contact reaction develop, such as intense swelling or blistering.
