Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a proven psychological approach that helps you identify and change negative thinking patterns and behaviours related to eating and weight. It's about understanding the link between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. By addressing the psychological roots of overeating, CBT can be a valuable tool in achieving sustainable weight loss.

While Hi-Doctor does not offer CBT therapy directly, we understand the importance of a comprehensive approach to weight management. Our EU-licensed doctors are here to provide medical support. If appropriate for your case, you can get a prescription for modern weight loss medications like Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Saxenda online. The consultation costs just €25, and you receive your prescription in under 24 hours, valid at any pharmacy across the EU.

How it works — get your weight loss medication prescription in 4 steps

  1. Fill the online medical questionnaire: It takes just 2–3 minutes. Then, pay the €25 consultation fee.
  2. A licensed EU doctor reviews your case: Our doctors assess your medical history confidentially. If the doctor determines the treatment is NOT appropriate for you, your €25 fee is refunded automatically — no risk, you pay nothing.
  3. Receive your electronic prescription: If approved, you get a REMPE electronic prescription (PDF file) in your Hi-Doctor account and by email within 24 hours.
  4. Collect your medication at any EU pharmacy: Print the PDF or show it on your phone. Present it at any pharmacy in the EU to collect your medication.

Who qualifies for weight loss medication like Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Saxenda

Our EU-licensed doctors individually review every case to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. Generally, for medications like Wegovy (semaglutide) or Mounjaro (tirzepatide), doctors look for:

  • A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or greater (obesity).
  • A BMI of 27 kg/m² or greater (overweight) with at least one weight-related comorbidity such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
  • No history of certain medical conditions, including specific thyroid cancers (medullary thyroid carcinoma) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding.

The doctor will assess your full medical history from your questionnaire to confirm eligibility and rule out contraindications before issuing a prescription.

What weight loss medications actually do (and don't do)

Medications like Wegovy (semaglutide), Mounjaro (tirzepatide), and Saxenda (liraglutide) are GLP-1 receptor agonists. They work by mimicking natural hormones in your body that regulate appetite and food intake. This helps you feel fuller for longer, reduces cravings, and can lead to significant weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.

These medications are not magic pills. They are tools to support healthy lifestyle changes, not replace them. Realistic timelines for weight loss vary, but consistent use along with diet and activity can lead to noticeable results over several months. They will not instantly make you lose a specific amount of weight, and results are highly individual.

Side effects and when to stop

Like all medications, weight loss treatments can have side effects. Common ones often include nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, especially when starting treatment or increasing dosage. These are usually mild and temporary.

You should stop the medication and consult a doctor immediately if you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of pancreatitis, or an allergic reaction. Your Hi-Doctor will provide full details on managing side effects and when to seek further medical advice.
